Safety on social hunts
Safety is the first priority in any kind of hunting. Therefore, for social hunts, such as driven hunts, a district-wide traffic safety system is conditionally obligatory. Many hunting grounds are criss-crossed with roads and neither game nor hounds observe traffic rules during the hunt. If it is foreseeable that hunting may lead to increased game traffic, the person authorised to hunt is obliged to avert the resulting dangers. Therefore, he should contact the responsible road traffic authority or police in good time before the planned hunt.
A first aid kit for humans and dogs should not be missing on any hunt. This way everything is quickly at hand for first aid in an emergency. It is also helpful to distribute the mobile phone number of the doctor and vet on duty in the vicinity and to know the rescue points.
